Abstract
The study was carried out in Colonia Rio Plata, which consisted in determining the incidence and identification of gastrointestinal parasites that affect lactating calves at the age of 2 to 6 months and to know the problems that cause these parasitic affections. It was carried out in 14 production units that met the parameters established for the sampling. The investigation lasted 90 days, from the definition of the methodological process, data collection in the field, which consisted in the collection of fecal samples that were taken to the laboratory, application of observation guides and the application of the survey. The techniques that were used in the laboratory were Mc master for gastrointestinal parasites and larvoscopy for the detection of pulmonary parasites, to determine the level of involvement was as follows: 50 hpg at 200 hpg Light, 201 hpg at 700 hpg Moderate, greater than 700 hpg Serious. Hpg (egg per gram stool). The most affected parasites were: gastrointestinal with 73% among these (Trichostrongylus, Oocyst of Coccidia, Strongyloides, Strongyloides, Trichuris, Ostertagia, Acaris, Bonostomum) and pulmonary 23% (Dictyocaulus viviparo), 4% of the calves had no parasites. The highest incidence of moderate to severe gastrointestinal parasites is Trichostrongylus, Estrongyloides Acaris, Coccidia and pulmonary parasites Dictyocaulus viviparous. The main factors that influence the high prevalence of parasites are; Inadequate implementation of sanitary schedule, lack of hygiene in the productive infrastructure: floor, feeders, drinking fountains, there is no rotational system in pastures, and poor nutritional management of calves on farms, in this situation it is important that producers establish measures of control to reduce the prevalence of gastrointestinal and pulmonary parasites in the bovine herd.
